About Tina

When I was a little girl, I was always brushing out my dolls hair, our animals fur, and even our fake fur rugs (actually anything I could). I just could not stand to see then looking scraggly. So as I got older, I landed a job working with a Florida Panther Cougar (it was the blood donor for cats) at a local veterinarian office in S. St.Pete (Dr. Musgrave). It was at his clinic that I learned how to properly bathe an animal, clean out the ears, and do anal glands with out injuring an animal. At the same time, a job opened, on the Saturdays, at Lady and The Tramp pet grooming (Rita Nichols) for a pet bather. I got the job. As I worked more at the pet grooming job, I liked it more. Soon I was learning how to groom. That was back in 1989. Since then I have worked at many places like Petsmart in Texas, a Humane Society in Texas, a kennel and grooming facility in Greensboro, N.C., a very busy shop in Charlotte, N.C., East Bay Animal Hospital (Dr. Marshall), Naturals for animals and their Horse Farm in Hudson (Sue Griffith), Barks And Bubbles in Safety Harbor, Sheldegren Kennel (Tom Koch, where I learned management, advertising, bookkeeping and did the grooming for kennel and grooming shop), shared space with Fluff and Scissor (John Moore) and got my own name of TLC PET GROOMING. Soon opened my own shop in Clearwater. While there I found out that I am allergic to Dog and Cat dander. I was there almost 7 years. I had to sell or quit due to a neck and back injury that had twisted my spine in the area of the neck, compressed a few disks, and pinched a nerve, leaving me with no strength and tingling in my left arm and hand. So after 3 shots from Florida Spine Institute and physical therapy, I was on the road to recovery. In the meantime, I went to school to be a Nail Technitian, even opened my own business, but soon figured out that it was worse on my neck and back than pet grooming. So I got a job at A Very Important Pet in Clearwater. And in 2007, I opened CUTE CUTS PET GROOMING. Being very careful, I am able to dance and groom again! Here recently, my allergies got the better of me again, so I went to work for Petsupermarket and tried to sell the business. Well, Petsupermarket was a great experience for me (I got a chance to help people with their exotic pets from my own experience of having them over the years. Like an Iguana, Corn Snakes, Red Tailed Boa Snake, Tropical Fish, Hamster, Guinea Pig, Rabbit, Ferret, Squiriels, Sugar Gliders, Cats and Dogs.) and I moved up the ladder very quickly, but the shop did not sell. So I had to quit Petsupermarket, on good terms. I came back to the shop and I found an allergy medicine that works well for me, and here we are today!  Recently, I found a new place to run my businees (sharing space with another grooming shop) along with doing my West Coast Swing dancing.
